Use of Symbiopathic Remedies in Biological Dentistry
Biological dentists understand that certain microorganisms are important for maintaining the health of the oral cavity as well as maintaining overall total body health. Current research results show that human colonization and coexistence with certain microorganisms are important for maintaining health. Disturbances in this community (dysbiosis), on the other hand, are the basis for the development of diseases.
Dental biofilm plays a very crucial role in the etiopathogenesis of periodontal and peri-implant diseases. Over the past decade, tremendous research has been carried out to know the structure of biofilm and the mechanism by which it causes the destruction of supporting tissues of tooth or implant.
Dental biofilm is a polymicrobial entity that resides on biotic and abiotic surfaces of the oral cavity. These surfaces can range from hard or soft tissues of the oral cavity as well as the inanimate surfaces such as implants, orthodontic bands, clear aligners, or prosthesis.
The reasons for the development of dysbiosis are varied, but one aspect stands out, the state of the inner environment. The milieu / biological terrain in the body influences one's own metabolic processes and an important part of the internal milieu is the acid-base balance. The milieu is also dependent on a large number of other components, but acidification has a strong influence on the metabolism and the microorganisms.
Several Symbiopathic Isopathic remedies are a Biological Dentist's best friend for helping their patients with bacterial suppurations on the teeth, periodontal tissues, lips, cheeks, tongue, and the prevention of post dental treatment infections.
My favorite most used remedy clinically to use to help treat infections in the oral cavity is Symbio Not 4X Drops. The active ingredient is Penicillium chrysogenum (Notatum) extract 4X. It is not an antibiotic and does not produce antibiotic substances. There are absolutely no side effects. This remedy specifically acts with infections caused by streptococci and staphylococci.
When patients who are afflicted with diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, kidney disease and whom might be on some form of dialysis are going to have their teeth cleaned are put on a prophylactic protocol to take this remedy two days before their appointment, the day of the appointment as well as two days after to prevent unnecessary post dental treatment appointments infections.
The usual dosage is 5 drops placed under the tongue, held for one minute allowing the drops to flow over the entire floor of the mouth and then swallowed. The timing is to stay away from food, drink, and brushing the teeth for 60 minutes. The dosage is increased to 5 drops 2-3 times a day for acute infections.
Acceding to my clinical experience I strongly recommend having this remedy on hand to use for all general bacterial suppurations, e.g. angina tonsillitis, laryngitis, canker sores and herpetic lesions in and around the oral cavity, and follow up treatment for suppurations caused after tooth extractions.
Symbio Muc-Aspergillus 4X Drops The active ingredients are Mucor racemosus and Aspergillus niger. This combination is useful for prophylactic protocols on fragile patients or post-operative infections after tooth extractions or periodontal surgery. It is also useful for patients who have had a history or currently are afflicted or are susceptible to adenoiditis, swelling of the lymph nodes, and tonsillitis. This remedy is very useful for the re-establishment of symbiosis when there is a susceptibility to infections or allergies.
For oral intake once daily 5-10 drops under the tongue, held for one minute allowing the drops to flow over the entire floor of the mouth and then swallowed. The timing is to stay away from food, drink, and brushing the teeth for 60 minutes.
When there are active infections before or after oral surgery or periodontal surgery caused by streptococci and or staphylococci one should use alternating applications of Symbio Muc-Aspergillus 4X Drops and Symbio Not 4X Drops which plays an important role for irrigative therapy by using serial applications of the two remedies which are used in alteration separated by at least 24 hours.
Clinical oral examination plays a major role in the diagnosis of superficial fungal infections such as candidiasis. Candidiasis or oral candidiasis is the most frequent mucocutaneous mycosis of the oral cavity. Oral candidiasis is usually a scrapable white lesion of the oral cavity, including the top of the tongue. Hence, differential diagnosis of a scrapable white lesion must include oral candidiasis.
Aspergillosis is the second most frequent oral mycosis and arises as a result of an opportunistic infection.
Several Symbiopathic remedies are available to treat candidiasis. The practitioner should consider the following remedies in their armamentarium; Symbio Asper 4X Drops (Aspergillus niger), Symbio Forti 4X Drops (Penicillium roqueforti); Symbio Para 4X Drops (Candida parapsilosis), Symbio Para-Roqueforti 4X Drops (Candida parapsilosis and Penicillium roqueforti) .
Symbio Quent 4X Drops (Penicillium frequentans). It is not an antibiotic nor does it produce any antibiotic substances and there are no side effects. It is very effective in treating all diseases caused by mixed infections and also acts as an intensifier of other fungal preparations for oral candidiasis. The drops are used as previously mentioned for the other Symbiopathic isopathic remedies.
Symbio Cere 6X Drops (Bacillus cereus). This remedy brings a distinctly activating effect of the endogenic defense system and healing functions in chronic inflammations of the periodontal tissues and all the mucosal membranes intraorally. It increases granulocytic phagocytosis activity by increasing the T-lymphocyte proliferation. The drops are used as previously mentioned for the other Symbiopathic isopathic remedies.
Symbio Firm 6X Drops (Bacillus firmus). This remedy raises the defensive capacity of the normal bacterial flora. If a chronic inflammatory condition is not resolving satisfactorily it provides an immune modulator to help unblock the specific defense capacity by increasing phagocytic activity and raising T-lymphocytic proliferation.
Symbio Tilis 6X Drops (Bacillus subtilis). This remedy is useful in treating chronic inflammations intraorally. This remedy is a potent immune modulator much like Symbio Cere 6X Drops and Symbio Firm 6X Drops. The instruction for usage is exactly the same as all the Symbiopathic remedies that are discussed in this report.
